In a dramatic turn of events that has captured the attention of fans and followers alike, former guitarist and vocalist for Falling In Reverse, Max Georgiev, has released a second statement addressing recent accusations made by Ronnie Radke, the band's frontman. The controversy revolves around claims that Georgiev was dismissed from the band due to allegations of having dated a minor years ago. Radke took to social media to articulate his reasoning behind this decision, stating:
"For those curious about why I terminated @maxgeorgiev’s position as the guitarist, it’s because he confessed to having slept with a minor a decade back, long before joining my band, when he was 27 years old. Enjoy that information."
Georgiev responded to these serious allegations via his own social media account on January 6th, emphasizing:
"Dear fans,
I have never engaged in any illegal activities with a minor. Fifteen years ago, when I was just 23, I lived in Quebec, Canada.
Throughout my music career, I have been part of various bands, none of which ever suggested any inappropriate conduct on my part.
I have always held immense respect for my fans and have dedicated myself to delivering heartfelt performances for you all."
Following this, during a livestream session, Radke challenged Georgiev's assertions, declaring:
"This individual not only committed that act, but when the girl’s parents discovered it—ten years prior to his joining my band—they confronted him. He deceived them about his age to maintain the relationship. He wasn’t 23; he was older. He is being dishonest about that."
In a newly issued statement on January 8th, Georgiev countered:
"Anyone who thinks I had physical relations with a minor at the age of 27 without any solid proof is sadly mistaken.
I did meet someone who turned eighteen shortly thereafter while I was casually seeing her. This occurred fifteen years ago when I was 23, living in Quebec, Canada.
The girl’s parents never confronted me because she was raised solely by her mother. I was transparent with both her and her daughter regarding everything.
However, this may be the true reason for my dismissal:
By April of 2024, I was ready to depart FIR. I decided to prepare myself by learning nine songs from another band. Check out the upcoming video and the scheduled date. You can find playlists on my YouTube channel."
In order to substantiate his claims, Georgiev shared video evidence showcasing a handwritten music notation book for the band Disturbed, along with several clips of himself playing their songs, all stored in a Google Drive folder created on May 6, 2024. It’s noteworthy that Falling In Reverse had been touring with Disturbed early in that year. At the time of the alleged incident, the age of consent in Quebec, Canada, was 16 years old.
Recently, Georgiev has been focusing on his solo musical career, with his latest work titled "Believe In You" being released online last month.
