Get ready for a thrilling change on Broadway! 'Operation Mincemeat' is about to undergo a significant cast transformation.
Brandon Contreras is stepping into the spotlight, replacing David Cumming in the captivating production of 'Operation Mincemeat'. Cumming, an original cast member, will bid farewell to the show in February 2026, passing the torch to Contreras.
Contreras is no stranger to the stage, having recently captivated audiences as 'Cal' in the Off-Broadway and international sensation, 'Titanique'. A native New Yorker, he made his Broadway debut in 'Almost Famous' (OBC & Old Globe) and has graced the stage in numerous beloved productions, including 'Titanic', 'Road Show' (City Center Encores!), 'In the Heights' (1st National), 'Jerry Springer: The Opera', and many more.
'Operation Mincemeat' has been a resounding success, with over 1,649 performances across London's Fringe and West End, and now on Broadway. The show has developed a passionate following, affectionately known as "Mincefluencers." Interestingly, on Broadway alone, a staggering 2,000 audience members have attended multiple performances, with 53 dedicated fans purchasing tickets for ten or more shows!
But here's where the plot thickens: the play is set in 1943, during World War II. The Allied Forces are in a tight spot, but they have a secret weapon—a stolen corpse with a hidden agenda. Part comedy, part thriller, and part spy adventure à la Ian Fleming (with a touch of Fleming himself), 'Operation Mincemeat' reveals the astonishing true story of a covert operation that changed the course of history.
And this is the part most people miss: the show has been extended five times, proving its enduring appeal. So, will Contreras' portrayal live up to the hype? Only time will tell. But one thing's for sure—this Broadway production is not to be missed!
